Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Rexburg, Idaho. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who excel in managing financial tasks and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and contributing to the overall integrity of financial data.

Responsibilities:

Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions with precision and timeliness.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records, promptly addressing discrepancies.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the general ledger.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate reporting.

Support the preparation of financial statements and detailed reports.

Organize and maintain financial documentation and filing systems.

Communicate effectively with vendors and customers to resolve account-related issues.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.

Provide necessary documentation and support during audits.

Handle additional accounting or administrative tasks as required. Requirements - Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative mindset.

Experience with QuickBooks Online is highly desirable.

Knowledge of account reconciliation, billing processes, and expense management.
