Purpose of the Position: Under supervision, performs or oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting activity for a department or agency. Analyzes financial information and programs, identifies financial trends, makes recommendations to management and prepares a full range of financial reports, including specialized or non-standard reports. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

· Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

· Serves as treasury expert. Includes managing investments, serving as the administrator for all bank accounts and handling all business regarding our credit card machines and transactions.

· Analyzes and posts cash receipts.

Accountant 1 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications: Government fund accounting and federal grant experience. Government Finance Officer Program Level 1 certification highly desirable.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands: General office environment.

Remote Work:***Employees authorized for remote/hybrid work must reside and perform their job duties exclusively within the state of Georgia. Remote/hybrid work arrangements outside the state are not permitted under current policy.

Salary Information: $43,008.32 Annually | Pay Grade H
