The Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG) Construction and Facilities Maintenance Office (CFMO) is looking for an experienced Project Manager to work in their Planning Division, managing the programming, design, and execution of Major military construction (MILCON) projects for the GAARNG.

The MILCON Project Manager will plan, prepare for, and complete construction projects. This position will also review plans and specifications, conduct inspections of on-going work and ensure that projects are completed as designed and within budget and time requirements.

Typical responsibilities include:

Assists Master Planner with programming action relevant to MILCON projects. Provides expert guidance to provide realistic cost estimates and execution strategies for MILCON projects;

Manages projects stakeholders including A&E firms. Construction firms, NGB division branches, tenants, and local officials in support of project execution;

Manages MILCON project budgets, timelines, meeting minutes, and deliverables required by policies and regulations;

Performs technical analysis of all designs, cost estimates, and proposals for MILCON projects;

Constructs scopes of work and evaluates proposals for design-build and design-bid-build projects;

Performs Quality Control/Quality Assurance and provides assistance/support to MILCON projects.

Position will be required to travel up to 2-3 trips per week to visit construction projects. Will be required to climb ladders, access roofs and attic spaces, and work around commercial construction activities.

Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those qualified applicants who possess a combination of any of the following:

Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field.

Working knowledge of various programs utilized by the Georgia Army National Guard

Experience/knowledge with the organizational structure of the CFMO and the GA Army National Guard.

Two (2) years of Military Construction (MILCON) experience (focus on programming, design, and construction).

Two (2) years of Project Management experience

Project Management Professional Certificate

Lean Six Sigma Training

The selected applicant must meet the following standards:

Possess a valid drivers' license;

Pass a pre-employment drug-test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program;

Pass a pre-employment background check, which includes a Georgia criminal history, as well as a post-hire federal background investigation in order to gain and maintain access to military facilities and computer networks/programs;

Eligible to work in the U.S.;

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
