We operate in Canada as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel Canada, and subsequent communication related to Canadian positions may show the ELS name. Work Shift:Job Description:GENERAL RESPONSIBILITYAssist Product Development mechanical engineers in the conceptualization, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing product designs using sound mechanical engineering principles in support of company business development efforts, marketing plans and department plans. Analyze specifications, as well as business, technology & cost requirements, and implement appropriate, approved designs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Take steps necessary to ensure product reliability, performance, and customer acceptance.PRIMARY DUTIESUnder the guidance of the Mechanical Engineering Manager and lead mechanical engineers, conceptualize, and develop material handling products using sound mechanical engineering principlesAdhere to suitable design and documentation practices and methodologiesSupport internal and external customers in product use and application as requiredSupport vendors in product and sub-component fabrication as requiredAdhere to project timelines and budgetsParticipate in Product Development department projects as assignedParticipate on company teams as assignedParticipate in the execution of functional as well as accelerated life tests to ensure product reliability and performanceSECONDARY DUTIESProvide support and documentation to enable company staff to quote and source materialsParticipate in the identification and recommendation of new material handling technology solutionsServe as a technical resource to other departments as requiredSPECIFIC DUTIESExecute ECR's (Engineering Change Requests)Execute ECN's (Engineering Change Notices)Create and maintain CAD solid models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorksPerform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) using SolidWorks SimulationDevelop and maintain organized supporting design calculationsCreate and maintain product BOM's & Routings in ERP software CSI9 (CloudSuite Industrial)MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEnrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree programHighly motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines and high-quality requirementsStrong communication skills (Verbal & Written)Problem solving skillsDetail orientedDESIRED EXPERIENCESolidWorksDraftingGeometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T)FEA using SolidWorks SimulationMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)AutoCADTo apply for this position, please apply online at: www.gorbel.com/about-us/careersGorbel is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
