Overview
PenFed is hiring a Senior Manager, Brand Marketing & Sponsorships to work onsite at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this role will be to plan and execute marketing and sponsorship efforts to promote the PenFed brand, driving brand awareness through the implementation of fully integrated marketing plans across all applicable channels. This role is also responsible for agency oversight, ensuring creative trafficking efficiency between and across departments, and maintaining creative cohesion across all brand and product marketing efforts used to promote PenFed and its products.

Assists in the development and implementation of comprehensive brand marketing and media strategies to create strong and consistent brand identity
Oversees end-to-end brand projects from concept through execution, ensuring they are grounded in consumer insights and aligned with innovation strategies
Proactively manages creative agency of record - monitors deadlines, creative development, and oversees all daily operations
Manages brand sponsorships - including contract renewals and negotiations, overseeing sponsorship strategy and communication with sponsors
Oversees the planning and executing of marketing events and activations, ensuring smooth operations
Develops and implements content marketing strategies to promote sponsorships or events - create engaging cross-channel content in partnership with social media and digital teams to drive engagement
Develops marketing calendars/annual plans and strategies to include social media, sponsorship activations, and community events
Oversee creation and production of marketing collateral, advertising campaigns, social media assets, and promotional materials
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities and customer preference
Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels and customer touch points, including digital, print, and social media
Direct brand research projects and brand tracking, working with vendors and creating internal presentations to measure growth and define opportunities among target segments and geographies.
Strong understanding of analytics and ROI methods to track and promote growth for various brand metrics including brand affinity, health, and awareness
Collaborate with multiple lines of business and external partners to ensure fully integrated campaigns
Manage external creative agency to deliver best in class creative
Works closely with cross functional teams, including PR, web, digital and UX team, procurement, compliance and legal to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment on all brand efforts
Demonstrates ability to make data-driven decisions while considering the member needs and mindset
Willingness to take feedback from other teams in an objective manner and incorporate into overall strategy as necessary
Assists with other marketing projects as needed.
This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years marketing experience; including but not limited to product, offer or campaign development; campaign implementation, test and learn methodology, member centric insights, competitive intelligence, and offer fulfillment and analysis.
Minimum 2 years of direct management experience.
Minimum of five (5) years creative agency experience; responsible for leading and managing creative projects, managing creative teams, and overseeing the process from concept through execution.
Experience with corporate event planning and managing event marketing.
Expert at navigating complex corporate environments with tact, professionalism, and strategic insight.
Skilled in translating challenging or politically sensitive messages into clear, constructive conversations that preserve relationships and foster collaboration.
Proven ability to deliver difficult news - whether to clients, executives, or cross-functional teams with empathy, poise, and a forward-looking mindset.
Known for maintaining morale and trust, even when managing high-stakes decisions, organizational changes, or unpopular directives.
Adept at reading the room, aligning messaging to audience expectations, and keeping projects moving despite red tape, shifting priorities, or conflicting interests.
Demonstrated marketing & strategic analysis skills with an ability to map and understand business drivers.
Expertise in marketing strategy and project management principles and practices.
Excellent communications, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
Must possess a strong work ethic and be an enthusiastic team player.
Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will supervise employees.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call will be required.
