Position Overview
The Electrical Project Engineer will support the planning, design, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects. This role requires Revit modeling skills and a solid understanding of electrical building systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to grow professionally, and able to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and design consultants.
Job Description:
Design & Drafting
Develop, modify, and maintain detailed electrical models and drawings in Revit , including power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
Coordinate building system models with other disciplines to ensure accurate clash detection and resolution.
Prepare layout drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts.
Assist in generating as-built drawings at project completion.
Project Engineering Support
Support senior engineers and project managers with design review, technical submittals, and shop drawings.
Assist in creating material takeoffs, product data sheets, and equipment specifications.
Participate in field walks to verify site conditions, collect data, and support installation planning.
Coordination & Communication
Communicate with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify design intent and technical details.
Attend project coordination meetings and track design updates, RFI responses, and meeting minutes.
Collaborate with BIM teams to ensure all models meet company standards and project requirements.
Documentation & Quality Control
Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, revisions, logs, and correspondence.
Assist with QA/QC of electrical drawings and BIM models.
Support commissioning activities, including reviewing test results and confirming final documentation accuracy.
Requirements:
1-5 years of experience working as an electrical engineer within the construction or design/build industry required.
Revit proficiency (3D modeling, coordination, Creating Shop Drawings) required.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field is preferred. HS Diploma required.
Experience working for or with an electrical contractor is preferred.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto and BIM collaboration platforms.
Understanding of NEC, electrical codes, and typical construction practices.
Familiarity with electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, life safety, and low-voltage systems.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
