Preferred qualifications:
Experience with specific wafer prober platforms (e.g., TEL, EG, TSK) and optical inspection tools.
Experience with Linux/Unix command line and basic software configuration.
Experience writing technical documentation or maintenance checklists.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and inventory tracking.
Ability to perform precision soldering and mechanical assembly.
Ability to manage sensitive semiconductor components with manual dexterity and attention to detail.
About the job
In this role, you will wear two hats: that of a skilled operator and a technical troubleshooter. Your primary goal is to maximize tester availability and uptime. You will operate our test systems, but you will also build them, fix them, and document the processes that keep them running. You will work closely with engineering teams to support wafer and sub-assembly test operations, manage probe card health, and maintain electromechanical systems that verify our next-generation chips. This position is for nightshift (7PM-7AM) on a compressed (alternating three and four day weeks).
Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $87,000-$125,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Maximize tester availability through root-cause analysis and repair of software, hardware, and mechanical systems, addressing issues ranging from wafer alignment and fiducial errors to prober/loader malfunctions.
Manage total tool health and probe card operations, including precision inspection, swapping, diode check debugging, and monitoring performance dashboards to anticipate and resolve drifting parameters.
Lead the end-to-end setup of new test cells, covering electrical rack installation, software configuration, and precision mechanical/optical assembly (e.g., microscope mounting and hardware limits).
Support workflows by managing wafer logistics, archiving materials, and synchronizing Work In Progress (WIP) with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), acting effectively as both operator and technician.
Drive process consistency by creating detailed work instructions (SOPs), conducting equipment audits/qualifications, and providing technical support.
