Job Summary:

A Lab in the department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology is currently seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant I to join our team. Our lab is focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in bacteria, viruses, and yeast through diagnostic testing and working in the field of clinical trials with the ultimate goal of developing new strategies for prevention and treatment.

Assist laboratory manager in management of bacterial isolate stocks

Coordinate shipment of specimens between MetroCenter and MCN

Account for inventory use for clinical projects and alert manager of supply needs

Make media and reagents for microbiology testing

Perform standard microbiology tests for research projects, including antibiotic testing, Gram stain and subculturing

Assist senior RAs, staff scientist and manager with clinical trials
