Our Centralized Investigations & Audits Unit (CIAU) within our Business and Professions Division (BPD) is currently recruiting an Investigations Supervisor experienced in leading teams through change while diving into investigations and growing a distanced team.

Our Business & Professions Division (BPD) oversees licensing and regulatory activities for34 professions and 143 license @types (businesses and individuals) and administers the Prorate and Fuel Tax program, as well as providing oversight of Combative Sports events, managing Uniform Commercial Code filings and Performing Rights Society registrations, Agriculture Support Program, and maintaining the Firearms database for law enforcement.

As the Investigations Supervisor, you will direct and oversee the day-to-day work of a team of investigators to ensure unit goals and expectations are met. You will lead a group that supports compliance within the Real Estate Unit which includes Real Estate Brokers and Managing Brokers, Appraisers, Appraisal Management Companies, Home Inspectors, Notary Publics, Camp Resorts, Timeshares, Employment Agencies, Telephone Solicitors, and Whitewater River Outfitters. You will review investigations into proper computation of fees, taxes, penalties, and interest, while ensuring due process and investigative processes are followed and equitable. As the supervisor of this diverse and multilayered team within DOL, you will develop expectations, collaborate to identify the best practices, offer education and technical assistance to customers and the public, and work to ensure proper standards are met.

Some of what you will do:

Supervise a team of investigators including work assignment and mentorship.

Conduct expert level investigations including unlicensed activity and sensitive areas of investigation.

Use and teach the full range of investigative duties and disciplines.

Assist in the review, revision, and implementation of state laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to professional licensing.

Testify in administrative hearings and deliver oral or written reports as requested.

[What you will bring to the position:]{.underline}

Six (6) years of experience as an investigator with a criminal justice government agency or private organization, or other directly related field including four (4) years of field investigation experience.

Six (6) years of full time experience in investigations involving personal background, unfair or deceptive business practices, insurance casualty claims, or similar allied topics.

Four (4) years of experience as an Investigator 3 with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Two (2) years of relevant education may substitute for one (1) year for experience.

Experience must include:

Five (5) years of experience in the following:

Interpreting and applying rules and law
