We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial operations for the Midwest logistics region. This role partners closely with the Controller and regional leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and data-driven decision-making.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead core responsibilities including period-end close activities, financial statement preparation, forecasting, KPI reporting, and analysis of both fixed distribution and variable P&L categories. You will also support annual budgeting, maintain internal controls, monitor operational spend, and provide financial insights that highlight trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities across the region.
Pay Range: $89,444-106,643. This role is eligible for an annual bonus.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the Controller in financial controllership of the Midwest region.Fiduciary responsibility for financial reporting, controls and analysis.
Assist in Period End Close process, including developing accurate financial statements, journal entry preparation, detailed analysis of Fixed Distribution and variable P&L line items, and regular reporting for both local operations, national operations, and corporate finance.
Own aspects of the monthly dynamic forecasts for the balance of year within assigned P&L categories. Be able to articulate, with sound support, the drivers of forecast changes within the regional leadership team.
Accountable for analysis and interpretation of business results and reports to provide insights on key business drivers. Highlight gaps and opportunities for improvement. Perform initial analysis on generated reports to 1) provide awareness; 2) help inform on decisions; and 3) drive continuous improvement actions.
Monitor operations spend with effective measuring tools and schedule.
Support the Controller in the annual budget process (AOP) by partnering with operations and creating a bottom-up plan with a very high level of detail, including the Primo business strategies and continuous excellence.
Partner with the Controller to maintain internal controls and develop any necessary new requirements to meet organizational compliance standards.
Calculate, review and report on various daily, weekly and monthly KPI's which summarize performance in various key areas of the business.
Monitor general accounting functions such as A/P, payroll, fixed asset management and general ledger maintenance as it relates to logistics. This includes indirect oversight of invoicing related to 3rd parties.
Identify potential improvements in cost effectiveness and make proposals to the appropriate parties.
Leadership, excellent communication skills and ability to influence with integrity are a must. Be a confident, value-added Co-Pilot of the operational business with very strong interpersonal skills. Own education and training for operations regarding the cost structure and the key drivers guiding proper, data-driven business decisions.
Must add strategic thinking value as a member of the overall leadership team in the region by working together in driving key business decisions. Provide a continuous improvement mindset with results orientation.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or other similar fields
Minimum 2 years of Operations or Logistics finance experience
Proven ability to partner with operational leaders to drive business results
Ability to work in a complex, changing environment
Strong systems skills (i.e. Microsoft office, Excel, SAP)
Excellent Analytical ability required. Ability to analyze large data sets and handle high volume of transactional data.
Experience in period end close and variance analysis preferred.
Mobility a plus for future career opportunities.
