POSITION TITLE: Lead Product Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Create layout, detail, and assembly drawings using our client's environmental information to ensure no packaging or interference problems exist in drawings or data. Execute robust design changes to provide the highest level of quality during the build and assembly of proto@type parts. Apply best practices in PDFSS, drawing standards, fea, Gd&T, Root Cause Analysis, Dvp, Dfmea, Hand Calculations, and during the use of carry-over and CPP Technology. Ensure design data is released on time to support high quality assemblies for testing. Support root cause analysis during the resolution of any test failures and inform management of any potential safety concerns. Provide test specifications and review setups for product testing in the assigned area of design responsibility, as well as support the generation of DFMEAS prior to releasing the proto@type tooling. Develop technical solutions that support business objectives such as cost, performance, timing, weight, and investment. Support suppliers in product development and drawing creation. Perform design studies or tolerance stack-ups to ensure high quality product assembly and performance. Execute best practices and early detection for BSR. Maintain awareness of advancing technology and implement them as appropriate. Telecommuting: Hybrid telecommuting up to 2 days per week allowed.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field. Plus Three (3) years of experience as a Product Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related occupation in the automotive industry or related industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards applicable to Seats; (2) Knowledge of Nissan or other Japanese OEM Seat Specifications; (3) DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) creation and execution of test plan for complete seat programs; (4) Problem solving of complete seat functional, material, and appearance issues using tools like KT (Kepner Trego) and A3 BEP; (5) DFAM (Design for Assembly and Manufacturing) for seats; (6) DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis) for seats and seats components; and (7) GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance) ASME Y14.5, Tolerance Stacks, and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) Automotive standard APQP process.

RATE OF PAY: $93,642.00 -$102,918.48 per year
