Summary You will serve as an AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER in the CHINA LAKE RANGES DEPT, RANGE OPERATIONS DIV, AIR OPERATIONS BR AIR SPACE CTRL SEC of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. Responsibilities You will operate instrumentation systems, including military radar unit systems and terminal/tower systems. You will be responsible for live action judgement and decision making, with high stress situations including managing multiple aircraft vehicles within very close proximity in airspace unexpectedly and simultaneously. You will interface with FAA, Air Force, and local airport officials to coordinate range testing airspace requirements and enhance flying safety. You will ensure that all controllers meet and maintain published requirements for currency on each applicable qualified operating position. You will formulate and relay clearances and advisory data to aircraft operating within assigned area of jurisdiction. You will maintain continual surveillance and operation of airport movement surfaces to ensure pedestrian, vehicle and aircraft compliance with operating rules. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications (DS-04): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/10) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
