Job description
Mission: Monitor & coordinate the availability of materials and manpower, as well as Machine Shop capacity, in order to schedule & execute the production activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules in alignment with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and customer delivery requirements.
Participate in weekly MPS meetings and daily start-of-shift meetings to support shop commitments and ensure on-time delivery.
Update and manage all shop schedules in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and alignment with MPS priorities.
Revise production schedules when required to accommodate unforeseen changes or disruptions.
Provide accurate delivery dates and participate in delivery review meetings.
Monitor production progress closely, identify risks or delays, and take expedited actions when necessary.
Contribute to the development of recovery plans and communicate any revised schedules to stakeholders.
Prioritize critical parts to prevent machine or line stoppages.
Prepare and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for the machine shop.
Monitor material availability and manpower capacity, assessing impacts on workflow and schedule adherence.
Optimize work processes to improve operational efficiency and throughput.
Perform finite capacity scheduling for all machine shop work centers.
Achieve on-time delivery targets while ensuring efficient use of resources and controlling production costs.
Track subcontracted work, request updated delivery statuses, and incorporate them into the production plan.
Maintain and manage work orders throughout their lifecycle.
Review load vs. capacity and make recommendations to ensure balanced and realistic scheduling.
Identify and prioritize bottleneck operations to support overall production flow.
Maintain visual management boards and lead daily production meetings with team leaders.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure part availability and support smooth production flow.
Perform monthly / quarterly cycle count on Machine shop parts.
Run weekly production plan report and plan the job based on the requirements.
Monitor the Work Centre parameters (Queue time / efficiency / hours)
Candidate skills & requirements
College Diploma in Operations Management or University Degree in Business
Administration
Knowledge of Production planning fundamentals (MRP2 principles, e.g. APICS)
Knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement tools (LEAN)
Familiar with ERP usage (SAP preferred)
Knowledge of Production process flow
Knowledge of Safran Landing System Quality System
Efficient with MS Office software
Strong Leadership & decision-making

Interpersonal skills (including working effectively with others and influencing
