Summary You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the FST ENGINEERING DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The incumbent will serve as a E-2/C-2 and MultiPrograms Aircraft Fleet Support Team (FST) Leader who acts with full line authority on E-2 and C-2 in-service support issues. The duty location of this position is Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA. Responsibilities You will serve as an E-2/C-2 and MultiPrograms Aircraft Fleet Support Team (FST) Leader. You will work through and with Supervisors to allocate and schedule manpower and other resources for task accomplishment. You will direct and manage assigned program to assure products and services are delivered on schedule, within budgeted cost and performed according to documented technical requirements. You will develop program planning objectives and management strategies for current and long-range (5 to 10 year) program tasks. You will evaluate the impact of fluctuations in resource levels, such as budget changes, and update estimates of resource requirements due to new or revised objectives, technical capabilities, acquisition strategics, etc. You will work with customers to define their in-service support requirements, negotiate the resolution of differences and determine necessary technical and program trade-offs. You will direct the development of contract engineering and logistical specifications, which define support requirements and parameters You will apply advanced theories, concepts and principles practiced in professional engineering sufficient to implement the principles and practices of systems engineering encompassing aerospace, mechanical and electronics/electrical engineering. You will plan, develop, advise on and implement crucial projects and activities which is essential to US Navy's safely flying. You will use the E-2 aircraft for Battle Management Command and Control as well as the C-2, a uniquely capable delivery platform providing critical logistics support for Carrier Blue Water Operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-14) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the core in-service logistics and engineering products and services produced by a Fleet Support Team; 2) Displaying the ability to effectively operate within a command's financial system (i.e. Navy's Work Capital financial system); and 3) Managing financial and personnel resources for a large multidisciplinary team. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
