Washington Trust Bank is looking for a dynamic leader to join our Small Business Banking team. Our SBB Team Leader position offers an opportunity to develop and grow client relationships, becoming a trusted business partner to our Eastern Washington and Idaho markets. Participates in Small Business Banking (SBB) business development efforts by identifying referrals and prospects and calling on clients/prospects to achieve sales goals. Provides high quality customer service while assuring bank and division profitability and asset quality standards are met. In conjunction with the SBB Manager, provides sales management, support and decision making for staff within a relationship team to attain established goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Proactively investigates opportunities for expanding Small Business market share and making business more profitable, with particular attention to identifying prospective clients and additional financial needs among present clients. Responsible for meeting negotiated production goals. Responsible for marketing Small Business products and services including preparing for client calls, making sales calls, and call follow-up. Identifies opportunities and continually prospects for new clients. Generates leads through existing relationships; asks clients for referrals. Ensures an effective working relationship with other Bank personnel as required to perform client support and sales functions. Cultivates strong connections with retail branch staff in order to develop internal pipeline of quality referrals. Develops strategies to engage in difficult negotiations or presentations. Integrates effective Internal Controls into all applicable work processes. Maintains a working knowledge of Internal Control
