Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Setup Machinist

Job Description

Join a machine shop in Anaheim, CA that specializes in custom gears, machined parts, and assembly for the aerospace, defense, medical, commercial oil, power, and automotive industries. This position is for a setup machinist working on a 4/10 schedule from Monday to Thursday, 2 pm - 12:30 am.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and check part dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.

Accurately use measuring tools and understand necessary company procedures relevant to the position.

Perform in-process inspection of machined parts.

Communicate effectively and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.

Collaborate with the Supervisor and Quality Department to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in CNC lathe operations, specifically with Okuma CNC machines.

Blueprint reading and setup experience.

Experience with aerospace parts and inspection tools/methods, with tolerances up to .0005 inches.

2+ years of experience in a precision machining environment as an operator or 5 years minimum experience in setup.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Mastercam experience is a plus.

Experience with Okuma Lathes, including LT300MY, LB3000, and L250 models.

Must have had the same job within the last 3-4 years.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, air-conditioned machine shop alongside 50 colleagues. The position operates on a Monday to Thursday, 4/10 schedule from 2 pm to 12:30 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00/hr.
