Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for office automation and clerical support duties in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Georgia. Typical work assignments will include: Serves as an administrative assistant to the United States Attorney and provides clerical services for Senior Management. Receives all incoming telephone calls directed to the United States Attorney. Handles routine inquiries from both staff and visitors, providing technical assistance and answering questions regarding the general nature of the USAO. Establishes and maintains files for reports and statistical data, as well as other administrative material Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Prepares time and attendance (T&A) for assigned personnel. Prepares travel arraignments and claims. Performs a variety of other administrative support duties. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors to the office; responding to inquiries and providing general information; producing a variety of written documents utilizing several @types of office automation software; and entering information into an automated database. To be qualified, you must @type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
