GRCC's https://www.grcc.edu/schools-departments/applied-technology is seeking an adjunct instructor in Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technology (HVAC) to join the Applied Technology Department. Candidates must possess an interest in working with diverse student populations from a wide range of age, ethnicity, national origin and ability; and a willingness engage in and develop innovative teaching strategies to effectively assess student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty members are responsible to GRCC and to each other for the successful completion of departmental work as well as work associated with the School of Business and Industry and GRCC as a whole. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide instruction in the area of https://www.grcc.edu/programs/heating-ventilation-air-conditioningrefrigeration-hvacr-technology-aaas, which include skills in operating systems, parts, and units, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and blueprint reading.

Teach and perform demonstrations as well as create and safely facilitate lab based training in the classroom.

Fulfill adjunct faculty responsibilities by providing a stimulating classroom environment, following syllabus requirements, using department approved curriculum and tools, and applying college attendance policies.

Respond to communications promptly and ensure students have access to course information.

Maintain accurate student records to meet GRCC reporting requirements.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education Credentials

Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Michigan Mechanical License required

EPA 608 Universal required

Work Experience

A minimum of five years' work experience in HVAC Service, Installation or Maintenance is required.

NATE Certifications, current or previous preferred.

Any additional industry certificates or certifications preferred.
