In This Role, You Will empower students to discover their potential and pursue excellence-academically, personally, and spiritually-through high-quality teaching and authentic care. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have deep Spanish language knowledge and strong proficiency, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering cultural understanding and effective language acquisition across grade levels. We are particularly interested in educators passionate about working in urban education as a part of a high-performing, driven staff. Ideal candidates will also be well versed in strategies to promote metacognitive engagement and be willing to go the extra mile for students. Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and show expertise in developing lesson plans.
Academics
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned Spanish instruction for K4-6th and 9th grade students using high-quality materials, instructional best practices, and a balanced approach to speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Foster language acquisition, cultural understanding, and communication skills through engaging, interactive, and immersive lessons that promote authentic use of Spanish.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, providing whole-group, small-group, and individualized support while using academic standards and student data to guide planning and adjust instruction.
Monitor, assess, and document student learning through formative and summative assessments, using results to track progress, inform instructional decisions, and support improved outcomes.
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to align instruction, participate in school-wide initiatives, and contribute to cultural events and celebrations that highlight Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.
Classroom Environment and Student Relationships
Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with their lessons.
Integrate character education and/or faith-based values into daily lessons.
Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.

Serve as the cultural and spiritual model for their students, always interacting respectfully and striving to demonstrate God's love to their students and families.
Effectively communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and needs.
Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.

Schoolwide Support and Supervision
Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal.
Serve with a flexible, open heart that recognizes no duty is outside the scope of your role, we are a team that is stronger together in service of our students.
Travel between the K-8 and high school buildings as needed to provide instruction.

Bachelor's Degree, including any other requirements for accreditation, (Master's degree a plus). State teaching license preferred but not required.
Active participation in a Christian church.

Knowledge/Skills:
Proficiency in the Spanish language, with strong communication and instructional skills.
Experience teaching Spanish to multiple age groups, from early childhood through high school.
Knowledge of age-appropriate language acquisition strategies and cultural instruction.
