Job Duties: Execute the overall activities set within the scope of the research and technology projects and in accordance with PLM to meet budget, schedule, and performance constraints. Direct internal resources to ensure project delivery is on time and cost and to the specific, pre-defined deliverables as detailed in the project charter. Operate within the defined Integrated Project Team (IPT) structure to manage schedule, risk, and communication. Ensure project requirements are met and are in the best interests of Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems by creating the project charter, baseline plan, and other project management components. Ensure that the cost basis and/or pricing is correct by evaluating resource requirements, and performing risk analysis. Work within the defined project charter and/or program management plan including budget, schedule, and resource constraints. Responsible for delivering a defined scope of work to agreed cost and timeframe. Plan a project given the dependences and interfaces defined by the Program Manager and/or IR&D Manager. Plan tasks and resources. Develop project schedule and track progress (percent completion) on the developed project schedule. Provide leadership to the assigned resources/IPT to achieve project goals and objectives. Application of Daily Layered Accountability (DLA) in the performance of the project team. Make decisions on technical and schedule priorities for projects within the team's scope. Make project decisions within overall budget and resources parameters. Utilize cost and budget parameters as input for project prioritization. Manage purchase requests and material location for assigned projects. Work within the Technology Readiness Level and PLM process to meet project and program requirements. Lead and ensure effective Technology Readiness Level gate reviews. Manage project risks and issues, escalating to the Program Manager and/or IR&D Manager wherever necessary. Continually improve project effectiveness through process and system standardization. Manage communication primarily at an operational level concerning operational details (cost, schedule, quality). Provide weekly communication to Management, and monthly summary communication on project status. Provide any needed communication and status to the U.S. Government Contracting Office as required for such projects. Report project performance (milestones and budget adherence). Appropriate containment or escalation and scope management. Support the forecasting of project and program demand during the quarterly or any forecasting process. Interface with functional managers, supporting the resource management process with functional managers, Program Manager, and IR&D Manager. Support customer reviews. Carbon Composite Friction Materials for Aircraft.o Wear Life Improvement: Target increased brake wear life by modifying carbon formula. Smart Processing: Reduce carbon variation by monitoring processing inputs and outputs. Production Capacity: Increase furnace throughput with changes to loading processes and tooling. Electrically Actuated Aircraft Braking Systems.

Smaller and Lower Cost Electric Brake: Reduce the size and cost of the electric brake system. Aircraft Brake Control Systems. Directional Control: Develop a new brake control system that implements automated directional control of an aircraft. Taxi Braking: Selective taxi braking to reduce wear and optimize energy distribution.

Requirements: At Least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Graduate Engineer, Global Rotational
