As the manager of PRO Policy and Compliance , you will contribute to Starbucks' success by leading a team of compliance professionals and policy managers responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating HR policies while ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide standards and jurisdictional mandates. This role will establish processes for integrating HR policy management into the broader enterprise policy framework, ensuring consistency, transparency, and proper approvals across the organization. Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop a team of compliance professionals and policy managers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Ensure consistent practices and methodologies across compliance and policy functions.
Policy Governance & Integration
Design and implement a process to integrate HR policy management into the enterprise policy system.
Oversee the lifecycle of HR policies, including drafting, review, approval, and publication.
Ensure policies align with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and jurisdictional mandates.
Compliance Oversight
Monitor adherence to HR policies and compliance standards across the organization.
Partner with internal stakeholders to address compliance risks and implement proactive compliance strategies and controls.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with HR, legal, risk, coffeehouse operations and enterprise policy teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
Communicate policy changes and compliance requirements effectively to leadership and partners across the organization.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline policy and compliance processes.
Stay current on regulatory changes and best practices in HR compliance and policy governance.
We'd?love?to hear from people with the following qualifications:
HR operational program management - 8+ years
Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, cross-functional initiatives - 3+ years
Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulatory requirements, and enterprise policy frameworks
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with enterprise policy management systems
Certification in HR compliance or related field (e.g., SHRM-SCP, HRCI)
Familiarity with global or multi-jurisdictional compliance requirements
Ability to operate and influence across all levels of the organization
Bachelors or equivalent in relevant experience

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
