Role Overview:

This position orders the necessary parts for all the vehicles and equipment that are maintained in their shop. They are tasked with looking at parts diagrams while working with the mechanics to identify the correct parts and communicating this effectively with the vendors, and managing the stockroom inventory accurately by completing 10% and 100% inventory counts. Manage all invoices in Paywise by coding and creating receipts as needed.

This position is located in INDOT's Monticello Shop.

Pay Rate:

This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $20.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Research and compile information on specific aspects of the program such as procedures, needs and policies.

Answer basic customer questions about program policies and procedures.

Establish, organize, and maintain current and historical files related to the program.

Collect information to help in the preparation of program reports, develop applications, prepare budget allocations and/or purchasing of consultative services.

Maintain, organize, and monitor program assets.

Schedule, prepare, and disseminate all program related training materials.

What You'll Need for Success:

This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

General knowledge of the program area.

Working knowledge of applicable legislation, guidelines, agency policy and professional standards and practices.

Ability to research and compile specific topics related to program area.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.

Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.

Specialized knowledge of accounting principles.

Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

No degree required to fill this position

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
