Accounting Manager

Somerset, NJ

Pay: $53 an hour

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and variance analysis, and will be comfortable managing both operational and technical accounting activities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support a 3-person accounting team (Accountant, Analyst, AR/AP).

Review and post journal entries; ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.

Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations.

Research and resolve accounting variances and discrepancies.

Oversee AP and AR data accuracy, coding, and posting.

Lead or assist in month-end close and financial reporting.

Document and improve accounting procedures and workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.

Strong understanding of GAAP, journal entries, and general ledger structure.

Proficient in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, NetSuite preferred).

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliations, lookups).

High attention to detail; produces accurate, error-free work.

Takes initiative, self-directed, and can operate with minimal supervision.

Contract Details

Duration: 3-6 months (with possible extension).

Start Date: Immediate.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.
