Construction Estimator

Description

The Senior Estimator is responsible for:

Receiving quote requests from customers or the project execution team.

Managing assigned quotes and ensuring all required documentation for proposals and record-keeping is complete.

Working within a bid schedule to ensure proposals are submitted accurately and on time.

Reviewing labor, material, equipment, and time requirements based on blueprints, specifications, and historical data.

Presenting bids professionally with clear inclusions, exclusions, and closing strategy.

Coordinating project handoff after award, including job number creation, budget entry, and kickoff meetings.

Occasionally tracking jobs post-completion to gather historical data for future estimates.

Key Responsibilities

Process quote requests and gather necessary information from multiple sources.

Generate quote tracking numbers and complete work-up process.

Collaborate with estimating manager to manage schedules and bid dates.

Prepare and present proposals for management review.

Establish margins and identify risks with project managers.

Maintain cost rates and factors up to date.

Review contract documents for compliance and risk identification.

Strong knowledge of industrial construction (mechanical, piping, electrical).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

Advanced skills in quantity takeoff and cost estimating.

Proficiency in estimating software (HeavyBid, Sage, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Excel).

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ceres, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.07/hr.
