This position is responsible for processing outbound and receiving inbound goods to fulfill customer orders within an industrial gypsum
production environment through manual labor and the use of heavy capacity forklifts, track radios and other mobile equipment to load and
unload product on multiple modes of transport including trucks and railcars.
Responsibilities
Material handling : Operate forklifts and other machinery to move, stack, and transport materials within the warehouse. Safely operates mobile equipment and tools to transport wallboard according to quality and specification standards. Performs daily forklift and equipment inspections; communicating any issues to team Lead and perform refueling, as needed. Properly places 8lbs of dunnage (gypsum spacers between units of wallboard) onto trailers and railcars to standards, properly places dunnage in warehouse bays for placement of stacks of wallboard and resupplies dunnage as needed in the warehouse. Assists with troubleshooting responses to problems or breakdowns in the warehouse and as required. Reports directly to the Customer Service supervisor and participates in meetings as required.
Loading and unloading : Loads and unloads trailers and containers accurately, including the proper staging and sorting of products. Performs poly-bagging, loading and unloading of trucks and railcars, secures rail cars, and forklift driving/duties as required.
Inventory management : Maintain accurate inventory records by counting, scanning, and documenting goods. Help organize and secure materials in designated storage areas. Occasionally works at heights. Assists with projects and administrative paperwork including recording and entering data into established systems, monthly Safety Management Audit Tool (SMAT), inventory tracking, injury and damage reports and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) work area improvement projects. Processes outbound orders and customer shipments via administrative functions including documentation through enterprise resource planning systems (SAP and internal programs)
Order fulfillment : Pick and prepare orders for shipment by gathering, sorting and loading products. Performs quality inspections per the quality control plan and escalates issues to Lead and supervisor if encountered. Ensures order accuracy at the time of loading, maintains accuracy of wallboard counts making sure all products are of good quality and ensures culled boards are accounted for according to systems and procedures.
Housekeeping standards : Ensures workspace is clean, safe and in working order within assigned areas including but not limited to; sweeping floors, organizing tools and equipment, painting, emptying trash cans, etc. Operates mobile floor sweeper and scrubber to ensure warehouse bays, drive paths and loading areas are routinely cleaned.
Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
1 or more years working within a shipping/receiving warehouse environment
Forklift experience and or ability to gain qualification within the training period
License/Certifications
Forklift Certification

Properly communicate with team using mobile radios

WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a manufacturing plant environment with limited HVAC, concrete floors, and exposure to industrial noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature changes.
Normal plant operation is 24 hours, 7 days a week and work hours may vary depending on business needs.
May require long hours, and weekend and holiday work. May require travel by air and rental cars.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated
Perform tasks that require extensive and rigorous walking, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling, gripping, stair, and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain, and occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs.
May require long periods of sitting, walking, standing, working on a computer, or engaging in a telephone conversation

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
