THE OPPORTUNITY
The VP, Wire Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and administering the Wire Operations Department. This role manages the daily operational functions of the department, including supervision, support, review, and signing authority approvals for the wire operations team. Responsibilities encompass processing wires, record retention management, daily balancing, monthly certifications, and other related assignments. The manager ensures superior customer service and assistance to both bank personnel and customers, while maintaining compliance with banking policies, procedures, and applicable laws, with a strong emphasis on customer confidentiality. A professional demeanor and positive attitude are essential for success in this position. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Manage all processes for U.S. Dollar and foreign exchange (FX) incoming and outgoing wire transfers across multiple queues and wire transfer systems, including SWIFT and the Federal Reserve.
Oversee and support day-to-day operations with in-depth knowledge of wire processes and systems.
Monitor for potentially fraudulent activity to prevent organizational loss, coordinate cross-functional communication to resolve fraud cases and recommend proactive measures.
Analyze current processes to identify improvements, reduce risk, and enhance efficiency, provide recommendations to management.
Define reporting needs and implement metrics to monitor risk trends, issues, and opportunities aligned with strategic goals.
Collaborate effectively with business partners and teams across the organization to optimize resources.
Establish and enforce compliance with departmental standards and processes to increase productivity and ensure customer satisfaction.
Support departmental audits by providing wire samples, responding to auditor inquiries, and maintaining a satisfactory audit rating.
Develop and maintain wire standards and desktop job aids for the department.
Provide monthly tracking of volumes and data to management.
Lead by example, filling gaps as needed and uphold high standards in adherence to bank policies and audit requirements.
Provide direction, leadership, and motivation to achieve service and operational goals.
Design and implement effective processes and controls for safe and efficient operations.
Maintain thorough understanding of wire systems, interfaces, troubleshooting procedures, and escalation processes.
Participate in disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing for business continuity.
Advise management on staffing needs based on current and anticipated wire volumes.
Ensure high-quality, friendly customer service and resolve inquiries or complaints professionally and efficiently.
Promote a positive service environment while approving transactions within established guidelines.
Identify and mitigate operational and audit risks, manage departmental expenses, and build strong cross-functional relationships to achieve business objectives.
Oversee employee development by conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and providing coaching and feedback. Manage and motivate the team through training and mentoring to build skills and ensure strong performance.
Involved with interviewing and hiring decisions.
Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, goal planning, and counselings.
Manage, support, coach and train staff.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Strong expertise in wire operations, regulatory requirements, and technical understanding of wire systems and interfaces.
Proven leadership and team management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and fraud detection abilities, able to apply sound judgment under pressure.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels, active listening and adaptability.
High attention to detail with strong time management and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, accounting principles, and data accuracy.
5 years of experience in banking operations.
5 years of experience with U.S. Dollar and SWIFT wire transfers.
2 years of experience managing a production team.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
SWIFT Certification preferred.

SALARY RANGE
The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
