MDM Application Database Administrator
Oversee complex programs that drive impactful mission outcomes for our customers as an IBM Master Data Management (MDM) Application Database Administrator. Here, you'll see the bigger picture on mission initiatives and where your career can go at GDIT.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
As a Master Data Management (MDM) Application DBA for the Duplicate Identity Resolution Processing Team (DIRP-II) you will contribute to a fast-paced team responsible for monitoring and maintaining various Oracle production databases at the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and availability of the IBM Infosphere Master Data Management (MDM) database, developing reports, ensuring smooth operation of applications that interact with the MDM database, and working with the team to implement new requirements.
Lead and Support MDM application database activities
Collaborate with developers, data analysts, business analysts, and customers to understand and assist in developing requirements and provide technical support as a DBA
Maintain the MDM databases in accordance with contractual deliverables
ROLE REQUIREMENTS / DAILY ACTIVITIES:
Proactively monitor MDM application database health and take preventive or corrective action as necessary. Areas include:
Monitor free space in table spaces
Check log files for database errors
Check for free disk space and disk usage
Monitor server resources usage and errors
Monitor performance and resolve any bottlenecks identified
Develop transaction analysis reports regarding:
Transaction volumes by application
Error - Types and volumes by applications
Acquire in-depth understanding of the MDM database member tables, dictionary tables, task tables, and algorithm configuration tables
Demonstrated skills to develop SQL scripts
Work closely with developers, data analysts, business analysts, and business users to implement new requirements and provide technical support
Acquire in-depth understanding of the MDM database
Member tables, dictionary tables, task tables, algorithm configuration tables
Acquire an in-depth understanding of the MDM algorithm and functional components
Standardization functions
Bucketing functions
Comparison functions

Assist with the implementation of Electronic- Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (E-ICAM) for the MDM application
Manage/oversee migration of MDM database from our current on-premises to OCI Cloud
Ensure all MDM data management practices adhere to relevant Government standards and regulations
Implement and monitor MDM security auditing through Wed Application Service (WAS)
Maintain current knowledge of MDM Infosphere product suite and relevant technologies within the DMDC infrastructure
Troubleshoot issues identified by users
Acquire an understanding of DMDC application interactions with the MDM interface and database
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:

Citizenship: US Citizenship
Security Clearance level: Ability to obtain DMDC Position of Trust
Certification(s): Meet DOD 8570 Baseline IAT Level II certification (i.e. Security+ CE or higher)
Education: BA/BS in computer science, information systems, or equivalent related field
Years' Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge, experience and proficiency in Oracle and SQL tools, Microsoft Office 365 products, JIRA, and awareness of Department of Defense (DoD) cyber security policies
Must be a quick learner with medium to high complexity IT systems
Must be an analytical thinker with excellent communication skills
Location: Position is 100% remote
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Security Clearance level: DMDC Public Trust
Certification(s): Security+ CE or higher
Knowledge of IBM Infosphere Master Data Management Products is highly desired
Configuring and administering IBM InfoSphere MDM components
Understanding of IBM InfoSphere MDM architecture and data model
Knowledge of MDM Websphere Application Server (WAS)
Previous experience within the DoD and DMDC
Experience with Cloud (Oracle, AWS, Azure) containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes)
Knowledge leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools
Software Development knowledge
Knowledge of JAVA and UNIX scripting

The likely salary range for this position is $127,254 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
