What's The Role
To install and service (move, upgrade, and repair) our customers on HFC and FTTH with the highest customer service and quality of service. The install and service technicians are our front line and, in some cases, the first install and support face-to-face interaction that is met. It's critical that the install and service technician is respectful, courteous, and goes above the call of duty for our customer.
What You'll Do
Installation and repair of cable and fiber services.
Ensures the home can be connected by inspecting indoor outlets and feeder lines.
Identify Quick Connect opportunities and certify homes for Quick Connect.
Securely connects coaxial, RJ-45, and fiber cables from the wall to the end of the box-TV.
Connects home units to outside lines; runs or installs new lines as needed.
Programs cable boxes and Internet modems, WiFi extenders and APs
Inspects connected devices for proper working condition.
Demonstrates and teaches customers how to use specialized remote controls, modems, or other company-provided hardware or technological devices.
Maintains inventory of supplies on truck and requisitions necessary supplies.
Diagnose and/or correct all technical problems (cable TV, high-speed internet, Wi-Fi, and voice services) to the satisfaction of the customer and in accordance with company/international specifications.
Educate customers in the operation of equipment and company products and services
Ability to operate field test equipment (RF handheld spectrum analyzer, digital multi-meter leakage detectors, etc.)
Complete company documentation pertaining to work orders in accordance with the department processes and standards.
Adheres to all safety protocols, guidelines, and checklists.
Develops and maintains logs and records of service calls, time spent, tools and equipment used, and the nature of the call.
Recommends improvements to area lines when recurring problems arise.
Keep all appointments and complete all installation requests in a timely and professional manner.
Performs upgrades to existing service at customer premises by installing state-of-the-art cabling for triple play services.
You are required to be knowledgeable of and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations, both legislatively mandated and as outlined in company policy.
Maintain and ensure that all assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working condition.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, director, or vice president.
Knowledge & Experience
2+ Years Proven Experience in HFC or FTTH Install/Service.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Valid Driver's license
