The Field Operations Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating all of MTCs Outside Plant (Network and Building Infrastructure Facilities) operations. This position oversees MTCs Network Technicians, Construction Crews, Building Maintenance Staff, and Engineering Staff members.

The Field Operations Manager will develop and proactively manage an operational plan that emphasizes network optimization and resiliency, 24/7 outage response and incident management, operational efficiency, training and staff development, project oversight, safety compliance, and the maintenance of strong working relationships with other departments. The position ensures that all operational activities are carried out in accordance with regulatory, industry, and company standards and best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties Include, but Are Not Limited To:

Manage, direct, and evaluate Outside Plant Technicians, Engineering, Construction, Warehouse, and Building Maintenance personnel. Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments with departmental supervisory staff. Interact with the Customer Service Department as necessary. Manage and coordinate construction and network-related projects using industry best practices, including the Project Management Body of Knowledge. Responsible for 24/7 network operations, outage restoration, and coordination of work performed during maintenance windows. As a member of the Management Team, the Field Operations Manager is part of the Outage Response Team and Disaster Preparedness Committee. Ensure documentation, training, and compliance with all processes through the use of checklists, audits, ride-alongs, etc. Proactively manage operations with a focus on continuous process improvement. Bring ideas and initiatives to the Management Team and General Manager. Project planning, budgeting, evaluation, implementation, and oversight. Quality control oversight. Facilitate technical training to ensure all staff have appropriate training and certifications. Serve as company liaison for interaction with utilities, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and other external entities. Verify compliance with MTC policies and procedures. Ensure safety compliance and reporting in accordance with MTCs Safety Protocols.

Requirements Include:

Physically able to perform the duties listed above. Able to carry and set up a 28 ft., 80 lb. ladder. Strong communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Demonstrate excellent customer service qualities. Maintain a positive working attitude. Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, business correspondence). Experience in project and people management. Maintain a valid drivers license meeting MTC insurance requirements. Comply with the Drug-Free Workforce Act. Available for evening and weekend on-call requirements for outage coordination. Willingness to work evening and weekend schedules as required. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including but not limited to: All applicable federal, state, local, and industry labor, safety, and regulatory requirements

Field Operations Manager Expectations

Establish, enhance, and maintain policies and procedures that ensure optimal performance and resiliency of the companys critical network infrastructure. Prioritize training initiatives that promote cross-training and strengthen the technical proficiency of all Outside Plant (OSP) staff members. Develop and reinforce strong supervisory skill sets among department supervisors (Engineering, Building/Warehouse, Network Technician, and Construction) to improve operational efficiency, interdepartmental collaboration, and communication with the Field Operations Manager.
