Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor for a client in the western suburbs. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will oversee a team of three and report directly to the Controller. The position focuses on managing key accounting processes, maintaining accuracy in financial records, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and mentor a team of three accounting professionals, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks.

Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and monitor inter-company sales transactions for accuracy.

Provide leadership to the accounts payable team, ensuring timely payment to suppliers and adherence to terms.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audits and ensure compliance with regulations.

Participate actively in system upgrades, including automation tools like Esker for accounts payable.

Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.

Review and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records.

Utilize QAD and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data effectively.

This position offers a salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 and comes with a full benefit plan including medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, 401k and company paid pension.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on accounts payable or related areas.

Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in QAD or similar ERP systems is essential.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets.

Strong understanding of month-end close processes, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.

Excellent organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
