WORKING TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Programs and Re-Entry.

The mission of Programs and Re-Entry at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative programs and services that prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

Consulting and Reporting: Provide expert consulting and reporting services to improve program capabilities and operational procedures, ensuring best practices are followed.

Program Evaluation and Development: Assist in developing plans to evaluate program effectiveness, analyze data, and make recommendations for program development and revision to leadership.

Data Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with other Department sections to develop comprehensive data reports and prepare written recommendations for new programs or procedural improvements.

Policy and Standards Development: Establish methods and processes to evaluate current policies, develop clear standards, and ensure accountability for program outcomes.

Quality Assurance and Legislative Support: Assist in developing quality assurance mechanisms, legislative budget requests, and bill analysis, and conduct monitoring to ensure program compliance and efficiency.

Recently Retired? Beginning July 1, 2024, there is no longer a reemployment limitation; beginning with the 7th calendar month from the member's distribution date, there are no restrictions on working for an FRS employer. You will not be required to repay any prior distributions, and you may continue receiving distributions from the Investment Plan or Pension Plan without interruption.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.

Mustpossess a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Mustpossess a valid driver's license.

Two years of administrative experience.

Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY
