Position Information: Contracted Student Internship: Archeological Collections Curation Intern - (Unpaid Internship) Location: Roxbury Heritage State Park, 183 Roxbury Street, John Eliot Square, Boston Start/End Date: 1/20/2026 - 4/3/2026 Salary Rate: $0.00 (UNPAID internship) Weekly Hours: 10 hours Number of Openings: 1 position This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university. General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: The Collections Curation Intern will assist DCR Archaeology staff with management of the agency's archaeological collections. The successful candidate will examine bags of artifacts, collected from DCR properties. Artifacts will be counted, cleaned, described, categorized, drawn, dated, and photographed. The data collected will then be used by the intern, along with DCR Archaeology staff, to build a collections database. Detailed Duties and Responsibilities: Process Archaeological Artifacts. Photography of Collections. Developing Collections Inventory. Assisting in Development of Collections Database. Preferred Qualifications: MS Office including Excel and Word Anthropology coursework Archaeology coursework Museum Studies coursework First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
