Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team on the 1st shift. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with 1-3+ years of experience in a Quality Technician or Inspection role, though we are open to training entry-level candidates. The position involves using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure product quality, alongside basic computer tasks such as data input and email communication. Candidates should be able to stand, walk, and lift products weighing between 5-25 lbs for most of the day.

Responsibilities

Conduct audits of the production line to ensure compliance with standards.

Measure production outputs to verify compliance with quality requirements.

Collaborate with engineering teams to address product issues and assign cases.

Send professional emails across teams and input measurement data into Excel.

Document and address any issues that do not meet quality standards promptly.

Create or update documentation as necessary.

Identify and lead efforts to improve manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with engineering to test and inspect products.

Evaluate and process Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.

Essential Skills

1-2 years of related Quality or Manufacturing experience.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Proficiency in using standard measurement tools such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with PPAP is a plus.

ISO-9001 experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment is a darker, dirtier, and louder manufacturing setting. Candidates should be comfortable with a fast-paced atmosphere that offers numerous internal growth opportunities. The company is well-known with international representation. Physical requirements include standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, bending, twisting, kneeling, and squatting for long durations. Candidates should also have near vision, color discrimination, depth perception, and tactile discrimination abilities, along with the capacity to concentrate for extended periods in a disruptive workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
