The Montana Department of Revenue administers nearly 40 state taxes, oversees property appraisals, and regulates alcohol, cannabis, and unclaimed property programs. DUTIES Job Overview: This position resides in theCannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division_ofDepartment of Revenue.Duties include managing inquiries and appeals, drafting documents such as proposed department actions, compliance verification letters, settlement agreements; conducting informal resolutions, negotiating settlement agreements for compliance cases, and educating licensees about cannabis and alcohol regulations. This position is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and coordinating cases with other staff; working with the Legal Services Office and the Office of Dispute Resolution and responding to inquiries as the compliance business expert; training other staff, and determining appropriate actions related to compliance issues. Office environment. Lifting is infrequent, less than 15 pounds. Some travel may be required, must have a valid driver's license. _REMOTE/TELEWORK:_This position may be eligible to work from an approved worksite; however the successful candidate must be a primary resident of Montana as a condition of employment. This position would be required to report to the Department of Revenue office assigned by the supervisor. Employees must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program. Full-time teleworking is not available. Training Assignment: This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire. Successful applicants are required to successfully pass DOR tax and background check(s).__ EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE The above competencies are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to: · Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field; and · Three years of work experience that includes negotiations, settlements, compliance, licensing, procurement, contract administration, or program administration. · Preferred work experience includes leadership and project management. · Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
