THE POSITION
Are you an experienced accounting professional who is looking to grow your leadership skills and the skills of a team? Join the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS), Office of Financial Management in this advanced Accountant 3 position. This role is responsible for the analysis, reconciliation, classification and reporting of various complex and highly automated investment account activities and will lead a team in these accounting activities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role you will be responsible to lead, supervise, monitor, and train a team of accounting professionals whose work involves various investment account activities. You will review Public Market's work procedures to help improve current procedures or help implement new procedures, provide technical expertise on routine, unique, and complex investment accounting transactions, serve as a liaison for third party vendors, be responsible for the daily and month end reconciliation of the Cash Management portfolio, handle communications with multiple parties to efficiently and effectively coordinate the transaction, reporting, and performance activities of the System's investments, and make high level decisions regarding the daily analysis of automated investments.
Candidates who would be successful in this role will have experience in leading a team while performing work side by side with team members, can be a subject matter expert in accounting principles and system programs, and can implement and follow through on requirement checks to ensure needed information is easily accessible during end of month process and audits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch, hours may be flexible, to be discussed during interview process.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position will be required to report to the office one day a week, and any additional days required depending on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Accountant 2;or
Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
