Description

We are looking for a Fully Remote detail-oriented Property Staff Accountant to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity within the dynamic real estate industry, specializing in sales and leasing. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property accounting and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

Assist the Accounting Manager during audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

Coordinate the onboarding of newly acquired properties into the accounting processes.

Monitor and maintain the accuracy of financial activities related to property management.

Ensure timely completion of scheduled check runs and financial reporting deadlines.

Perform bank reconciliations and monthly journal entries to support month-end close processes.

Utilize software such as Yardi and Argus for accounting tasks and reporting.

Collaborate with third-party management teams to oversee financial operations.

Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.

Support corporate tax return preparation and general ledger management.

Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in property accounting within the commercial real estate sector.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi and Argus.

Strong skills in performing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger tasks.

Demonstrated ability to complete month-end close processes independently.

Experience with corporate tax return preparation.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Familiarity with third-party management operations is preferred.
