Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Springfield, Oregon. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. This position requires strong organizational skills and expertise in accounting functions, particularly within a non-profit environment.

Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.

Manage accounts receivable by monitoring incoming payments and addressing discrepancies.

Prepare and issue accurate invoices, including those related to government grants.

Perform account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and resolve any inconsistencies.

Support audit preparation by organizing financial records and documentation.

Utilize Sage Intacct software to manage and track accounting activities.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Assist in maintaining accurate records of billing functions and related transactions.

Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and workflows. Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Strong knowledge of billing functions and account reconciliation.

Proficiency using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles and practices.

Ability to prepare for audits and manage financial documentation effectively.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
