Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range: AJCR \$1,208-\$1,344 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: The Education Department at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is looking for Adjunct Faculty who can teach education courses in person and/or online following departmental guidelines for the courses. Courses are taught on an \"as needed\" basis. Courses to be taught include Introduction to Teaching; Foundations of Early Childhood Education; Survey of the Exceptional Child; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for K-12 Educators; Technology in Education for K-12 Educators; Families in Society; Child Health, Safety and Nutrition; and Independent Study. Adjunct Faculty need to be a resident of Kansas or Missouri and need to be able to attend occasional meetings on campus in Overland Park, Kansas. Review of applicants will begin immediately.

Required Qualifications:

Master\'s Degree in Education or and Education related field, e.g.,

Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, or Educational Leadership.

Professional teaching experience in either early childhood or K-12

setting.

Ability to develop and maintain supportive relationships with

students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to support student learning and success.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills

Understanding and use of a Learning Management System, e.g., Canvas.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in Education or a related field, e.g., Educational

Leadership.

Experience teaching Introduction to Teaching; Foundations of Early

Childhood Education; Survey of the Exceptional Child; Diversity,

Equity and Inclusion for

K-12 Educators; Technology in Education for K-12 Educators; Families

in Society; or Child Health, Safety and Nutrition.

At least one year of community college teaching experience.

Understanding and use of the Canvas Learning Management System.

Willingness to teach in person during the day or evening.
