Your Role At A Glance
The Manager of Financial Operations & Contracts plays a critical role in overseeing the review, negotiation, and management of all legal and sales contracts within a CAD/CAM technology organization. This role ensures contractual compliance, mitigates legal risk, and supports the direct sales team by reviewing terms and conditions (T&Cs) of customer agreements, vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and other legal documents, while also focused on best practices and streamlining processes. The position sits within the Finance team and collaborates closely with Sales, Legal, and Executive leadership.
How You'll Drive SuccessLeadership & Team Management
Lead and manage a cross-functional team including Customer Service, Direct Order Processing, and Legal, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational excellence.
Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in contract operations, customer service processes, and order management workflows.
Collaborate with department heads to align team objectives with broader business strategies.
Contract Review & negotiation
Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including sales agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, reseller/distributor agreements, and vendor contracts, working with Sandvik legal team as appropriate.
Ensure contracts align with company policies, legal requirements, and business objectives.
Risk Management & Compliance
Identify and mitigate legal risks in contracts and business transactions.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Contract Lifecycle Management
Oversee the centralized repository of contracts and manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to renewal/termination.
Optimize contract management systems and processes.
Sales Team Support
Partner with the Direct Sales team to evaluate customer T&Cs and provide guidance on acceptable modifications.
Act as a liaison between Sales and Legal to expedite contract approvals and resolve contractual issues.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Sales, and Product teams to support business initiatives.
Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on contract policies and procedures.
Reporting & Analysis
Track contract metrics, renewal dates, and obligations.
Provide regular reports to Finance leadership on contract status, risks, and opportunities.
The Talents We're SeekingEducation And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field; JD preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience in contract management or legal operations, preferably in a technology or engineering environment.
Demonstrated experience leading or managing contract operations or cross-functional teams.
Experience supporting sales organizations and reviewing customer T&Cs.
Experience working in a global organization with multi-jurisdictional contracts.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of commercial contract law and negotiation strategies.
Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite required.
Above average communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide accurate and timely information in a succinct and easy to understand manner.
Proven time management skills and a track record of working in a team environment successfully supporting others.
Well-organized, attention to detail and able to multi-task.
Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
Ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders across departments.
