Location: Farmington, CT

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview

We're seeking a Powder Coat Specialist to join the Smart Factory production team in Farmington, CT. This role is responsible for performing all painting and powder-coating processes to ensure high-quality parts are delivered on time and defect-free. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in metal preparation and powder painting.

Responsibilities

Load and unload parts onto conveyor lines for powder coating.

Prepare, tape, plug, and clean parts before painting.

Inspect and verify part quality after coating.

Handle rework and touch-up processes per company policy.

Operate forklifts, air tools, grinders, and other shop equipment safely.

Deburr and clean sheet metal parts requiring rework.

Assist with paint color changeovers and cleaning solutions.

Follow blueprints and specifications in both standard and metric units.

Perform 5S and preventive maintenance tasks to maintain work area standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or powder coating environment preferred.

Knowledge of metal preparation and powder painting processes strongly preferred.

Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 70 lbs regularly.

Familiarity with MS Office, quality, and lean manufacturing techniques is a plus.
