Chemours is seeking a Rotating Shift Manufacturing Lab Technician to join our growing team! This position will report directly to the Laboratory Supervisor at our Ingleside, TX location.
The Lab Technician position will be responsible for sample handling, analysis, sample cylinder preparation, and troubleshooting of process and finished product samples at the Chemours Corpus Christi Plant.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Type of Analyses: Gas Chromatography (flame ionization, thermal conductivity), GC/MS (Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometer), Titration, Conductivity, PH, Moisture, Fluorides, ICP, IC, IR, TOC, Other analyses as the need arises
Prepare samples for analysis, including highly hazardous process samples
Prioritize samples from multiple areas of the plant and report results in a timely manner
Perform routine sample analysis of process and finished product samples
Generate CofA's for Finished Product
Analyze samples according to SOPs and communicate any test result that is not within Standard operating conditions/specification
Understand and follow all safety procedures
Maintain an overall knowledge of the dangers and chemicals in the laboratory
Prepare and clean sample cylinders
Perform basic troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation when results are suspect
Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas
Change Gas Chromatograph supply gas cylinders
Participate in quality / lab audits
Quality Systems training (ISO-9001, IATF 16949)
Participate in test method and instrument validations
Enter data in multiple computer systems with accuracy (Sample Manager, Compass, SAP)
Maintain daily log entries
Support shift emergency response team
The following is required for this role:
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in a lab environment or an Associate degree or greater in a Science field.
Possess a mechanical aptitude.
Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including some weekends and holidays.
Must be willing and able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Basic Computer competency (use of Microsoft Outlook, etc.) and communication skills
Current Driver's License
The following is preferred for this role:
Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals following stringent safety protocols and procedures
Experience working with gas chromatography, IPC, IC, and TOC equipment
