Senior Project Engineer - Electrical

As a Sr. Project Engineer specializing in Electrical Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading capital investment initiatives and master plan projects across factory operations. You'll provide technical direction and subject matter expertise in electrical systems, ensuring robust design, installation, and commissioning of power distribution, automation, and control systems. Your leadership will drive improvements in capacity, energy efficiency, and asset reliability while aligning with plant performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical scope execution across project lifecycle, coordinating with cross-functional teams, consultants, and suppliers to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets are met.

Manage electrical design phases (concept, basic, detailed) with design consultants and vendors; participate in design reviews and workshops to ensure high-quality electrical engineering deliverables.

Oversee electrical equipment packages including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, control panels, and automation systems from vendor selection through FAT, installation, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders (production, maintenance, quality, R&D) for seamless handover of electrical systems and documentation.

Support startup activities including commissioning of electrical systems, validation protocols, and integration into SOP, PM, and QMS frameworks.

Ensure electrical documentation adheres to GDP standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, NEC, NFPA, OSHA).

Develop and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and detailed implementation schedules for electrical scope.

Lead or mentor junior engineers and technicians in electrical project execution and troubleshooting.

Generate and manage electrical engineering documentation including single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, URS, and validation protocols.

Conduct regular project meetings to communicate electrical scope progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Supervise contractors and field installation teams to ensure electrical workmanship meets corporate standards and supports operational integrity through startup and commissioning.

Accountability

Report weekly on electrical scope progress, risks, and milestones.

Lead electrical design reviews including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, utility hookups, and validation documentation.

Coordinate with vendors and consultants to optimize electrical system performance and reliability.

Manage unloading, installation, commissioning, and validation of electrical equipment.

Support PQ execution and final handover of electrical systems to site operations.

Assist in drafting SOPs, PM schedules, and QMS documentation for electrical assets.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wilson, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $144000.00/yr.
