Job Overview:
The Administrative Services Division Mailroom Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Administrative Services Division, including the Central Mailroom operations. The Mailroom Manager manages and supports administrative personnel, ensuring all operations meet quality, safety, and security standards while providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Administrative Management:
Manages personnel in daily operations of the Central Mailroom.
Ensure efficient and cost-effective administrative operations.
Safeguard and maintain Government-furnished equipment and facilities.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and submit correspondence, reports, and operational data to management.
Counsel and mentor staff, conducting performance reviews and corrective actions as needed.
Ensure staff maintain valid Secret Clearances and Mail Handler's Cards.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Mailroom Oversight:
Oversee day-to-day Central Mailroom operations ensuring USPS, DoD, and contract compliance.
Control and restrict use of registered, certified, or insured mail.
Conduct regular inspections using DA Form 7698 and report findings.
Operate and maintain mail metering equipment.
Train mailroom personnel on postal procedures and safety standards.
Provide technical advice to customers and mail clerks.
Maintain key control for Central Mailroom ZIP + 4 boxes.
Coordinate with Government personnel on postal matters and compliance issues.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (Business Administration, Management, or related field).
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in postal operations, communications, or administrative services.
Prior experience working under Government or military contracts is highly desirable.
Military experience is strongly preferred and may substitute for some management requirements.
Valid California driver's license.
Must maintain a Secret Security Clearance and Mail Handler's Card.
Knowledge of postal operations, communications systems, and contract administration.
Ability to lead, motivate, and train personnel effectively.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and mail metering systems.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current salary for this position is $82,000 per year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
