INDUSTRIAL MECHANICAL INSPECTOR (SHIPS) SUPERVISOR I

Summary You will serve as a Industrial Mechanical Inspector (Ships) Supervisor I in the Non-Nuclear Inspection Division, Non-Nuclear Waterfront Inspection Branch, Code 133.1 of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will explain technical subjects and be familiar with mechanical, structural and hydraulic-mechanical systems and assemblies associated with naval nuclear vessels. You will be responsible for the quality and quantity of the inspection work performed by subordinate nonsupervisory inspectors. You will be responsible for the overall quality of production work, personnel safety, and efficiency of the subordinate members of the working unit. You will assure that personnel are sufficiently trained in the processes and requirements of non-nuclear quality control to certify that program, specifications, and requirements are adhered to. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
