Job Title: Electrical SuperintendentJob Description

The Electrical Superintendent oversees and coordinates all electrical construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise electrical subcontractors and field crews.

Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.

Develop and maintain short-term (1-2 week) look-ahead schedules and site logistics plans.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and company safety policies.

Conduct daily pre-task planning and weekly safety meetings.

Coordinate with the Site Superintendent and Safety Director to implement site-specific safety plans.

Verify that all tools, equipment, and personnel are qualified and prepared for assigned tasks.

Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Monitor progress and quality of electrical installations and energization tasks.

Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Essential Skills

A deep understanding of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and OSHA safety regulations.

Ability to develop and manage construction schedules and coordinate subcontractor activities.

Experience in supervising field operations and managing subcontractor performance.

Skills in overseeing loop checks, point-to-point testing, and instrumentation calibration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical construction.

Electrical Journeyman License.

Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.

Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Work Environment

The role is based on an active construction site, specifically within a K-12 school setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint George, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
