Engineering Technician - Entry Level

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Technician to join our team and contribute to the improvement of distribution design. This role involves significant interaction with customers to understand their needs and the application of design skills to implement these requirements effectively.

Responsibilities

Interact with customers to determine their needs for distribution design improvements.

Design necessary work using proprietary design software after customer consultations.

Input requests into internal systems and oversee the completion of work in the field.

Spend approximately 40% of the time meeting with customers and 60% executing designs in the office.

Apply electrical knowledge, including understanding of transformers, electrical distribution, and conductors.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (EET, MET, CET).

Strong critical thinking skills.

Professional presentation and communication abilities.

Desire to work in a large utility company.

Previous distribution design experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The Engineering Technician will have their own cubicle and workstation, working within a small team of other technicians in both office and field settings to complete projects.

The dress code is business casual, typically jeans and a polo.

After initial training, working hours can be somewhat flexible to accommodate personal schedules, ranging from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.50/hr.
