Experience in advanced statistical approaches for analyzing data from surveys, interviews, focus groups, and clinical evaluations to inform curricular decisions.
Experience in quantitative data analysis software (e.g. SPSS, R.
Experience advising faculty or staff on effective assessment strategies and evaluation design.
Experience authoring reports or scholarly publications that contribute to veterinary medical education research.
Job Description:
The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is seeking a Research Scientist II to lead and support curricular assessment efforts. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data, developing meaningful evaluation tools, and collaborating with faculty and staff to improve educational outcomes.
What You'll Do:
Design and validate tools to measure student learning, satisfaction, and readiness for clinical practice.
Develop instruments to assess alumni success and employer feedback.
Collect and analyze data using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations.
Create reports that clearly communicate findings and support curricular improvement.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and college leadership to guide assessment projects from start to finish.
Position Details:
Term: Three-year, fixed-term appointment with potential for renewal.
Location: On-site in Ames, Iowa.
