Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient management of customer accounts, payments, and collections. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of collaborating across departments to resolve billing issues and maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

Accurately process and record customer payments, including checks, wires, and credit card transactions.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as payment errors, chargebacks, and unapplied cash.

Generate and distribute invoices, account statements, and summaries to customers.

Follow up on overdue accounts through regular collection efforts while maintaining clear and effective communication.

Analyze aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and recommend escalation strategies.

Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable subledger with the general ledger and assist in month-end closing activities.

Keep customer account records organized and up-to-date with relevant documentation.

Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Sales and Customer Service, to address billing and payment concerns.

Provide necessary documentation to support audits and compliance requirements.

Participate in initiatives to enhance accounts receivable processes and strengthen internal controls. Requirements - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable, including cash application and collections.

Proficiency in using accounting software and systems similar to Business Central.

Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.

Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.

Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-paced environment.
