GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Remember the excitement (and a bit of fear) of having your whole future ahead of you after high school? You probably had numerous career options to consider and maybe someone who guided you through those choices and helped you achieve your goals. Those mentors were life-changers, and now, with this Transition Navigator position, you can make a similarly positive impact!
Our team of dedicated counselors and staff, working at local, regional, and statewide levels, is passionate about enhancing the lives of youth with disabilities. As a Transition Navigator, you will assist counselors in one of four regions across the state, delivering high-quality vocational rehabilitation services, Pre-Employment Transition Services (PreETS), for school-attached youth aged 14 to 21 who have a disability. Your responsibilities will include managing the intake and orientation process for Potentially Eligible and general Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) services, performing initial assessments, and determining whether a student needs the services of a VR counselor or basic case management services. Additionally, you will collaborate with various school districts to recruit students,
conduct group activities, and monitor student progress. Each region-Rock Springs, Lander, Cheyenne, and Gillette-has unique needs, but the core mission of this role is to help students with disabilities explore their future.
This position demands extensive travelwithin your assigned region and close collaboration with DVR counselors, school districts, students, and parents. If you are excited about helping students discover their interests and plan for their future, we encourage you to apply.
