Responsibilities You will assist in assessing, inspecting and evaluating emergency management processes, preparedness, responses, plans and standard operating procedures. You will plan, prepare and execute Recovering from Emergency exercises to evaluate the command's level of preparedness and emergency response to all disasters. You will respond to actual disaster and support the reconciliation of available resources against those needed to support emergency response activities. You will act as alternate emergency management representative for SWFPAC during any emergency event to include national level weapon enterprise planning. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting or coordinating disaster or emergency management programs (prevention, protection, preparedness, response and mitigation). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience Additional Information This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
